This dynamic duo has literally lit the torch on premium dining in the High Coast, akin to what Magnus Nilsson and Jesper Karlsson did with Fäviken in Åre. Settled in a side street of Övik’s downtown, they’ve created a buzz with their well thought out creations and simple atmosphere. Linnéa even served a side dish of gastro fame to the High Coast by going to the finals of Kockarnas on TV4.
This new restaurant, snuggled in the new Strandkajen building, is the new love child of Ante Westermark of The Chef Nordmaling and partner Marie. They’ve brought their winning formula of sophisticated yet accessible food to Övik, served in a stylish atmosphere, and fronted by the harbour. Rumour has it that a gastro food truck will be plying the Övik streets this summer. We can’t wait.
While this new hot spot is known for its swanky cocktail crowd and offerings, it’s also a great place for food with dinners and light dining.
The house that Saporito (owners Maurizio and Jennie) built is one that took Övik’s Italian dining to a new level. With amazing home made pastas, curated dishes like their burrata salad and their sausage dishes, they set a new standard. But it’s their pizzas introduced in 2020—Sicilian gastro delights—that have everyone’s tongues wagging.

Armed with a solid menu of dishes presented in a whimsical way, in an off the beaten track location, Stationhuset defied all odds and became a new star in the gastro map of the High Coast. Bogdan Gheorghe and Ellinor Andersson have shown the way for rural artisans to make a culinary impact.

Public Pub and Restaurant (Euro)
Perfect for a drink, a light dinner of a full three-course meal, the Public combined a convivial yet elegant atmosphere right in the city centre of Övik. The varied and colourful menu is sometimes accompanied by live music.

Matstudio S20 (Euro)
Part food boutique, part cozy restaurant, Matstudio S20's staff serves their well known soup, salad and pie, all made from scratch. The charcuterie is picked directly from the counter, and they arrange three course meals for groups of 6-12 people from 6pm with bookings. Then you can have the whole shop to yourself!
Sushi Sakura (Asian)
With its roots in Trieste, north Italy, Mamma Mia was the first Italian restaurant in Övik, opening in 1974. To this day, it's still a must to visit for
homemade Swedish-Italian home cooking for lunch and genuine traditional Italian food in the evening, or for just a charcuterie platter and a glass of wine.
With mouthwatering asian dishes and a great variety to choose from, Sushi Sakura is the perfect place to go to try something different.

You love ostrich, you gotta have it and guess what, thanks to this restaurant, you shall have it. Strutsfarmen is a terrific, unusual and fun place to have a meal. It's a gastro dining experience, not a gimmick, and one that is very popular in summer months.
