The List

Örnsköldsvik: Beaches

Sea bath a little north of Örnsköldsvik. Sandy beach, beach volleyball court, barbecue areas, boules court, changing rooms and the opportunity to rent a sauna.

Idbynbadet

Fjälludden

Lovely location located nearby Nyänget, this location has the World Class Archipelago/Varldsklass Skärgård facilities on premises including a terrific dining porch, sauna and swimming from rocks.

Övik's most popular sea swimming destination, this classic has a big beach, a nice restaurant and excellent piers for small boats jet skis.

Gullviks havsbad

Köpmanholmens havsbad

Fine sandy beach, partly shallow. There is a changing room, disabled toilet and footbridge down to the water for e.g. wheelchairs. Playgrounds, windbreaks, barbecue areas and parking.

Our personal favourite: fantastic for small children and adults, this is the most happening beach in Övik. Bring your volleyball shorts!

Nyängets havsbad

Salusands havsbad

Salusand is a gorgeous beach, sandy and long, you could almost think you're somewhere like Belgium or Northern France. But the operator has fallen on hard times so don't expect too much by way of services. Still, worth the visit.

Örnsköldsvik: Lakes

Cute place near the road, with a nice pier for jumping and grass to hangs out on.

Åtebadet

Bergom

A bathing place with jetties, two nice changing rooms and toilets, also a disabled toilet. There is a wine shelter with barbecue area, several tables with benches and a sauna.

Billsjöbadet

A nice little village swimming area with older changing rooms and jetty. The toilet is newly built and has a handicap section. There is a timbered cottage with sauna and assembly hall, a barbecue area with tables and benches and a volleyball court.

Justernäset

Justernäset is a child-friendly bathing spot, located in Happstafjärden. It is very shallow in some places. In shallow lakes, the temperature can rise up to 25 degrees and the bathing friendliness can last until September.

Located in Själevad, this is a pretty lake that has a decent beach. An eco park nearby is an added benefit.

Käringberget

Kornsjöstrand

More known for the events staged here, nonetheless a long jetty and sandy beach with shallow swimming is a draw for water junkies.

Lomsjöbadet

Mosjön

The bath at Lomsjön is one of the closest baths from Örnsköldsvik seen. There is no jetty and no changing room. A newly built toilet was completed last year. A swimming area with large lawns, playground with climbing frame and volleyball court.

Great place with excellent facilities nearby (store, mini golf etc). You might hear a bit of traffic in the background but well worth the visit.

Örnsköldsvik: Pool

Gullvik beach pool

Not very big but hey, it's a pool, it's near the sea; there are worse places to take the plunge.

Paradiset

A bathing place with jetties, two nice changing rooms and toilets, also a disabled toilet. There is a wine shelter with barbecue area, several tables with benches and a sauna.

Mellansels open-air bath

Mellansels temperate outdoor pool consists of 3 pools with a water temperature of at least 26 C
There are three slides, one for each pool, the longest course is 26 meters. Adjacent to the splash pool is a playground that is adapted for children aged 3 - 12 years.
